ShatterProof is an exploration of resilience in its rawest form.
This collection features bold, striking portraits— some familiar, others newly imagined, rendered in my signature use of crushed glass and layered sustainable materials.
During a pivotal moment in my life, with my head literally pressed to the ground, I saw glass everywhere. Scattered, glinting, forgotten. That image lodged itself in my spirit and has reemerged as a symbol of transformation.
In this exhibition, what was once discarded becomes celebrated. At its core, ShatterProof is about fragmentation. Introspection, ancestry, ambition, triumphs, loss, grief, joy, faith— all the pieces that make up a life. My work is the reconciliation of those fragments. The glass isn’t just a material, it’s a metaphor. Every shard speaks to the complexity of being: sharp and delicate, beautiful and dangerous, fragile and strong.
Each portrait reflects this duality— broken yet whole, luminous yet grounded. They remind us that even in our most fractured states, there is a brilliance that cannot be dimmed. We are not just survivors. We are mosaics of strength.
