In preparation and production for this exhibition, Mekhail embarked on a deeply personal exploration of ownership over one's vision and purpose. It is composed of hand-painted and hand-stitched canvas scraps, emphasizing the tactile, intimate nature of the work. The image, a gaze cradled within one's own hands, represents the divine gifts of vision, grace, and purpose bestowed upon us by God. It serves as a reminder that while we may seek guidance from others, the calling placed within us is sacred and uniquely ours to carry forward. While external influences may try to shape our path, or even our own creativity, true direction comes from within.
The stitched fabric serves as a reminder that even fragmented pieces can be woven together into something whole, just as faith, perseverance, and self-trust build the foundation of any dream.
