A contemplative gaze, a hand resting on the face—this piece holds the weight of introspection, the quiet pull of personal history. The fractured yet fluid composition mirrors the tension between resilience and vulnerability, as if suspended in a moment of reckoning. Mekhail was navigating this space herself in the making of this work, wrestling with what is held onto and what is let go.
Fluorescent pinks and deep reds pulse with raw emotion, while black crushed glass and marbles punctuate the portrait like fragments of experience—some lost, some reclaimed. There is beauty in the breaking, strength in the reconstruction.
